This receptor has been shown to regulate xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes such as cytochrome P450. Before ligａnd binding, the encoded protein is sequestered in the cytoplasm; upon ligａnd binding, this protein moves to the nucleus and stimulates transcription of target genes.
